Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) HOUSING SCHEME, ZONE-5, ISLAMABAD

In 1994, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) planned a housing scheme for Overseas Pakistanis in Zone-V, Islamabad about seven (07) KMs away from Islamabad-Rawat Expressway on a narrow Japan Road. The scheme could not be completed even after a lapse of almost 28 years.

 

PMIC through OPF takes pride and brings on record the progress achieved on the recommendations made by PMIC, as under:

* Possession of 102 Kanal land pockets (falling at Block-A) was retrieved from Qabza Mafia and development activities have been completed.

* An amount of Rs. 707.869 million has been recovered from the allotees on account of outstanding dues, till date.

* Possession of all 8 Blocks have been handed over to the allotees / overseas Pakistanis to start the construction of their houses.

* Almost, 85% of underground electrification works has been completed. Land measuring 32 Kanals has been earmarked for the construction of Gird station.

* IESCO has mobilized at site and has energized 10 transformers through linkage of 49 transformers within OPF Scheme.

* SNGPL has approved the RLNG for OPF Scheme.

* CDA has redeemed 227 mortgage plots in the scheme. The possession of these plots is also being handed over to the respective allottees who intend to start the construction of their house.

* Additional 101 residential plots have been created.

* Planning / designing of commercial areas are completed and have been submitted to CDA for approval. Revised Layout Plan has been provisionally approved by CDA.

* Construction of six apartments buildings and 50 built up houses (country homes) has been commenced on 15.06.2020. All the 50 country homes have been sold-out, whereas the sale of apartments is in process.

* Installation of street lights on main roads is 100% completed.

* The work for construction of Dam / Lake within the scheme as per approved Layout Plan stands completed.

* Construction of sewage treatment plant has been awarded and the contractor has mobilized at site.

* OPF has procured 24 kanal land for installation of tube wells. Drilling of 6 tube wells have been completed and 4.5 Km length has been laid for water transmission.

* Digitization of land and estate management record has been completed.

* Maintenance unit has been established.

* Society office has been made functional to assist the allottees.

* Security surveillance has been enhanced.

* Construction of Entrance gate from Gulberg Green side has been completed.

* IBECHS has completed the construction works on 1^st approach road and has further agreed to provide 2^nd approach roads to the Scheme within six months.

* Traffic Safety equipment’s are being installed at main roads of the scheme to facilitate the residents.

* Planning / designing of Jamia Mosque and parks / green areas is underway.

 

The Hon’ble Prime Minister took special interest and provided guidelines to resolve this long standing issue in shortest possible time and Alhamd-O-Lillah it stands resolved after 28 years.
