PERFORMANCE OF PLANNING COMMISSION (PROJECTS WING)

The Planning Commission acts as a think tank for economic planning of the country. Participatory and collaborative planning is undertaken by involving the Parliament, Ministries, Divisions, Provinces, Special areas, Private sector, Academia, Civil society and Diaspora to play the role of facilitator and stewardship as well as an integrator in the areas of economic policy and reforms. The Projects Wing is responsible for the monitoring of PSDP projects to ensure its timely completion.

 

On the orders of Prime Minister’s directives, the PMIC undertook an elaborate study on the “existing management structure and monitoring system of Planning Commission about development projects, effectiveness of monitoring system, identification of weaknesses and to propose action plan for improvement”.

 

In this regard, the summary and detailed report was furnished to PM’s Office after incorporating the views and comments of M/o Planning, Development & Special Initiative on the findings & recommendations / action plan of PMIC, was approved by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Pakistan. Accordingly, the same was forwarded to M/o Planning, Development &Special Initiative for implementation.

 

PMIC through Planning Commission takes pride and brings on record to have completed implementation phase of almost all the recommendations, mainly focusing the projects appraisal, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, mechanism for speedy completion of PSDP Projects, resulting in timely achievement of national development goals, socio-economics and infrastructure development.
