HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE - MS LEADING TO PHD PROGRAM OF FACULTY DEVELOPMENT FOR ENGINEERING UNIVERSITIES / UESTPS

On the orders of Prime Minister’s direction to undertake, Chairman, PMIC was pleased to constitute a PM Inspection Team (PMIT) being headed by Dr. M.A. Kamal, Member, PMIC.  The project titled "Human Resource Development Initiative - MS Leading to PhD Program of Faculty Development for Engineering Universities / UESTPs" has been selected by Inspection Team as per ToR assigned:

"Identification of ECNEC approved slow moving / abandoned projects, to investigate reasons for delay / increase in the cost, to fix responsibility and to propose system and steps to complete the projects.”

2.            The main objective of the project was to produce 1500 PhD level Engineers, Scientists and Technologists who would essentially be the potential faculty members and academic resource persons, for some of the existing Universities of Engineering, Science and Technology as well as for the Universities to be built in collaboration with technically advanced countries. The project was sponsored by Higher Education Commission and has been under execution since 2007. ECNEC approved the project on 30.10.2007 at a cost of Rs. 11806.139 million (FEC Rs. 11340 Million).

3.         Summary for the Prime Minister along with the report was submitted to PMO. Thereupon, PMO conveyed the directives of the Prime Minister to Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (M/o FE&PT) to implement the orders of the Prime Minister.

4.         PMIC through Higher Education Commission (HEC) takes pride and brings on record to have completed implementation phase thus making the long ongoing project, a success.
